Training Grievance Policy
Home / Policy Overview / Training Grievance Policy
Trauma Institute & Child Trauma Institute (TICTI) is fully committed to conducting all activities in strict conformance with the various licensing bodies. TICTI will comply with all legal and ethical responsibilities to be non-discriminatory in promotional activities, program content, and in the treatment of program participants. The monitoring and assessment of compliance with these standards will be the responsibility of the TICTI Managing Director and Training Coordinator.
While TICTI goes to great lengths to assure fair treatment for all participants and attempts to anticipate problems, there will be occasional issues which come to the attention of the training staff which require intervention and/or action on the part of the training staff or an officer of TICTI. This procedural description serves as a guideline for handling such grievances. Please allow five business days to process and review your report.
1. When a participant, either orally or in written format, files a grievance and expects action on the complaint, the following actions will be taken.
If the grievance concerns a speaker, the content presented by the speaker or the style of presentation, the individual filing the grievance will be asked to put his/her comments in written format and submit them to the Managing Director. The Managing Director will then pass on the comments to the speaker, assuring the confidentiality of the grieved individual as well as check into the grievance filed.
2. If the grievance concerns a workshop offering, its content, its level of presentation, or the facilities in which the workshop was offered, the Training Coordinator will:
- attempt to move the participant to another workshop
- provide a credit for a subsequent workshop; or
- provide a partial or full refund of the workshop fee in accordance with our cancellations policy https://www.staging.ticti.org/cancellations/.
This will require a written note to the Training Coordinator, documenting the grievance, for record keeping purposes. The grievance should be submitted via email or post and include full name, email, phone number, address, and the workshop concerned. Please include the start date of the workshop.
3. Grievances concerning TICTI’s CE program, in a specific regard, should be sent to the Training Coordinator and they will attempt to arbitrate. Any grievance filed by a social worker should be sent to our social work consultant who will work with our training coordinator and attempt to arbitrate.
Any concerns will be brought to our licensing boards and necessary corrections to the workshop will be made. Please contact your state board for final ruling on CE requirements. If you have a workshop with CEs available but your state does not accept our licensing boards, you will be refunded the advertised discount available for your workshop. If you wish to cancel, you
may receive a partial or full refund of the workshop fee in accordance with our cancellations policy.
