State-Funded Therapy in Western MA

State-Funded Therapy Western MA

for people who have experienced violence, abuse, rape, assault, robbery, or other crimes

We are proud to offer no-cost intensive trauma-focused therapy to victims of crime in Franklin, Hampshire, and Hampden counties in Western MA, thanks to a VOCA grant*. Victims of many types of crime are eligible, including bullying, robbery, assault, rape, intimate partner violence, child abuse, kidnapping, and vehicular homicide. Recent or long ago is okay. Witnesses and family members of victims are also eligible for services. A police report is not required.

We have extensive experience working with adults, children, and adolescents, including LGBTQ+ and POC.

In this program we offer up to a week of intensive trauma-focused therapy, featuring Flash, EMDR, and/or PC.

To express your interest in receiving therapy through this grant-funded program, please e-mail us or call us 413-341-8191. If you are already working with a therapist, we may ask your permission for us to consult with your therapist. Please note that we have limited capacity and can only accept those who meet program criteria. If ultimately you do not qualify for this program, you may want to learn more about our private pay therapy program.

*This project is supported by the Massachusetts Office for Victim Assistance through a Victims of Crime Act of 1984 (VOCA) grant from the Office for Victims of Crime, Office of Justice Programs, U.S. Department of Justice.

What To Expect

  1. The screening and intake process can take some time. We ask you some questions by phone, and also ask you to complete a questionnaire online. This enables us to determine whether or not you’re eligible and likely to benefit from the treatment program.

  1. The treatment involves full consecutive days, e.g., Monday through Friday, 9-4 each day (maybe fewer or more days; this is just an example). This can be intense and difficult at times. And life-changing, in a good way.

  1. Follow-up evaluation is done at 2 weeks post-treatment, and again at 3 months post-treatment. We want to know how you’re doing! Also, documenting the outcomes of our innovative intensive treatment approach will enable us to obtain further grant funding, so we can provide the service to others in the future.
